Caroline Chidester

Caroline is a 27-year-old Columbus, Ohio based artist who works in writing, photography, coding, circuitry, and book-making.

She received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a focus in the photography, writing, and art and technology department.

In her fine art work, she combines her both photography and writing in order to create an immersive mode of story-telling. The two mediums can be used to aid narrative building, whether in stories, books, or installation. Chidester uses these methods to explore the concept of public presentation of “self”, and how that may contrast with a more personal idea of oneself.

In her professional photography practice, she works as a freelance photographer, taking portraiture of clients and products to portray the clients vision. Each photograph creates a story about the person or product, and provides a platform to give them life to their desired audience.

Alongside photography, she works as a freelance writer and editor, working with multiple clients and specializing in internal communications, branding, and developmental editing.

Aside from freelance work, she is currently employed by Story Garden Publishing as the Executive Assistant and Story Production Editor.
